As you know, the McKaig Nature Center closed Monday due to the widespread destruction and unsafe conditions caused by the torrential rain and flooding.

Good news:
We have further assessed the trails and found that only minor repairs to trails in the southwest part of the park are needed. (see map) Thanks to your financial generosity, we were able to order the gravel needed for delivery on Wednesday to make those repairs and will open that part of the park Wednesday evening. Details to follow.

The Park Needs Your Help:
Our plan is to open as much of the trail system as quickly as possible. We need your help with trail repair, so on this Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6pm to dusk and this Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 11am or so, we will be working on the Cadet trail (and more if possible).
Please plan to join us, we'll provide gloves, tools, bottled water and smiles of appreciation. See details and RSVP in these links:
8/15/2018 6pm to Dusk
   8/16/2018 6pm to Dusk   8/18/2018 9am to 11   8/19/2018 9am to 11

Funding for future repairs:
We are already looking ahead but need your help. A fund has been established for the planning and rebuilding of the many damaged areas. Thank you for those who have donated already, it has already been a huge help. Please visit here to contribute to the Rebuild McKaig Park Fund

Thank you for any help to support and fund this massive project.

Peter's bridge at the "beach" has been completely swept away.

The Grossman (middle) bridge shifted off its foundation.

One of the many trails that with severe erosion which will require extensive repairs.

We appreciate your patience while we develop a plan to safely re-open the park.

Thank you for any help to fund and support this massive project.  Rebuild McKaig Park Fund
