McKaig Nature Education Center is proud to offer a wide variety of programs for boy scouts.
Cub and Boy (and Girl) Scouts have been learning from our instructors and utilizing the 91 acre park and Old Roberts Schoolhouse for over 50 years.
Badge Program: Our Scout Badge programs involve classroom instruction in the historic Old Roberts Schoolhouse, a trip into the woods to put their new skills to the test, then back to the Schoolhouse for craft/snacks/wrap-up.
Costs: The approximately 1½ to 2 hour badge class costs $138 (or $128 for current McKaig members) for up to 18 scouts. If there are more than 18 scouts, we can provide a second instructor for an additional $78.
The more advanced badges that require more time will cost $78 for the first hour (including instructor preparation time) and $64 per each subsequent hour. These badge classes may be limited to a much smaller group size.
Troop Leader Responsibilities: Troop leaders are responsible to supply any craft materials along with snacks, drinks, etc. Troops are required to have supervising adults attend the program as well in (at minimum) a ratio of:
1 Adult to 4 Cub Scouts
1 Adult to 8 Boy Scouts
Note that there are no restroom facilities in the Schoolhouse or woods.
Download Catalogs (pdf): Coming soon, until then, email info@enjoymckaig.org for more information on programs.
